GSI Companies

The GSI Companies are subsidiaries of the Native Hawaiian Community Development Corporation (NHCDC), a non-profit Small Business Administration (SBA)-certified Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) that was founded to support education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for Native Hawaiians. GSI’s mission is to make profits for the NHCDC, which go towards promoting and providing educational opportunities that facilitate higher learning, scholastic achievement, professional excellence, and scientific and technological research.

Certified 8(a)

GSI Pacific Inc. (GSIP) and GSI North America Inc. (GSINA) are SBA-certified 8(a) small disadvantaged businesses.

The SBA has established competitive thresholds of $5M (manufacturing) and $4M (non-manufacturing) for sole source contracts; however, NHO-owned 8(a)s such as GSIP and GSINA are exempted from the threshold for sole source contracts with the Department of Defense.

Each company has the ability to draw on the experience and personnel resources of all of the GSI companies to meet clients’ needs. We have robust bonding capacity, lines of credit and sustainable cash flow to ensure concurrent delivery of multiple projects across our service areas. We have completed projects for both public and private sector clients, including the Unites States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), National Park Service, National Marine Fisheries, San Pasqual Band of Indians, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
